COMMENTS:

I really liked this show. It was very funny and yet still had some elements of drama. Further, it was a bit chessy and predictable but it seemed to enhance the piece. Sometimes plays are supposed to have a cheesy kind of stereotypical quality about them, but some cases the actor must take risks in order for every action to seem logical. That is what these actors did-- they took risks with characters and it was so gratifying to watch. The story was about a young boy who tried to commit suicide, but when he fails, instead of being happy he is alive his friends, family, and doctor try to convince him to try again. Each person has their own selfish motives for wanting him to make a second attempt. This play captures each character's motivation as they desperately try to convince Charlie, the boy, to commit suicide again. However, the truth behind their motivation does not surface until close to the end of the play. The writing is hysterical and the actors are committed. I loved this show!

POST-FRINGE PREDICTIONS:

I see this making a lucrative run on Off-Off Broadway. I also see this show sprouting up in colleges around the country in the next few years. It gives actors a chance to develop strong, unique characters, that is always fun to watch.
